Las subastadoras más conocidas y utilizadas en Guatemala son COPART e Insurance Auto Auction Inc. (IAAI por sus siglas en inglés).

COPART

Es obligatorio que te registres y pagues tu membresía para poder tener acceso al listado de vehículos y empezar a pujar.

Para personas individuales (sin licencias comerciales) solo se requiere cualquier documento de identificación emitido por el gobierno que tenga una foto. 

Para empresas (que sí cuentan con licencias comerciales) la documentación a presentar es la siguiente:

• Patente de comercio

• Registro Tributario Unificado (RTU)

• Traducción jurada al inglés de los documentos anteriores (Notarized translation)

• Llenar en inglés el formulario Affidavit for Purchase (Declaración jurada financiera)

• Llenar en inglés el formulario Multi-State Tax Form (Formulario de impuestos multiestatal)

IAAI

Primero debes crear tu cuenta y cancelar la tarifa de registro (USD $ 200). Si te encuentras fuera de los Estados Unidos de América, solamente puedes inscribirte si tienes una licencia comercial para un negocio relacionado con la industria automotriz, como: distribuidor, desmantelador, importador, exportador, restaurador, mantenimiento y servicio, taller mecánico, etc.

Documentación requerida:

• Documento de identificación emitido por el gobierno (licencia de conducir o pasaporte).

• Constancia de pago de impuestos (RTU) o factura de servicios públicos (electricidad, agua, teléfono, etc.), o cualquier documento que contenga su nombre y dirección.

• Patente de comercio relacionada con la industria automotriz.

• Traducción jurada al inglés de la patente de comercio (si no está en inglés)

• Acuerdo de exportación de ruta (Routed Export Agreement, que se encuentra redactado en inglés, y permite la exportación del vehículo de los Estados Unidos de Américas).

• Formulario de exportación Texas VTR-901 (Texas VTR-901 Export Only Form, que se encuentra redactado en inglés, y es únicamente para comprar en las subastas de Texas).

Es esencial que te tomes la tarea de investigar sobre las reglas y políticas de las empresas de subastas antes de tomar cualquier decisión. COPART

It is mandatory for you to register and pay for a membership to be able to access the list of vehicles and begin to bid.

For individual persons (those with no commercial licenses), the only requirement is any identification document that has a picture of you and that was issued by the government.

For businesses (that do have commercial licenses), the documentation they are required to present is the following:

• Business license of commercial entity

• Unified Tax Registry (RTU by its acronym in Spanish)

• Sworn or notarized translation of the documents above

• Fillling out the Affidavit for Purchase Form in English

• Fillling out the Multi-State Tax Form in English

IAAI

You must first create an account and pay for the registration fee (USD $ 200). If you are not in the USA, you can only register if you have a commercial license for businesses related to the automotive industry, such as: dealer, dismantler, importer, exporter, rebuilder, repair facility, body shop, etc.

Required documentation:

• Identification document issued by the government (driver’s license or passport).

• Tay payment certificate (Unified Tax Registry, RTU by its acronym in Spanish) or utility bill (electricity, water, telephone, etc.), or any other document that includes your name and address.

• Business license of commercial entity related to the automotive industry.

• Sworn or notarized translation into English of the Business license of commercial entity (if it’s not in English)

• Routed Export Agreement (which is written in English and allows the export of vehicles from the USA)

• Texas VTR-901 Export Only Form (which is written in English and it’s only for buying in auctions in Texas)
